Applicant Welcoming Committee

Dear Applicants,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Yale Welcoming Committee, and all of the Internal Medicine Residents. The Yale Welcoming Committee was recently formed to provide an opportunity for applicants to meet and be greeted by current Traditional Medicine Residents. In particular, the residents who compose the Welcoming Committee are readily available to answer your questions regarding everyday life as Yale Residents and as members of the greater New Haven community. As you progress through your interview season, we hope you will consider us a resource in addition to the Chief Residents and the Program Directors.

We have recently set up an email forum to help answer your questions and connect you with residents in our program. Please feel free to email yalewelcome@gmail.com with questions regarding life in our program and in the surrounding community, or if you would simply like to meet more residents during the interview season. We always have someone on call to answer emails, and are determined to get back to you within 24-48 hours. We hope that this provides a meaningful way for you to learn more about what it is like to be a resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and about the culture of the Yale Internal Medicine program.

We wish you a wonderful interview season, and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes,

Aaron Soufer, MD
